About “Sasha’s Information Corner”

In 2018, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Amy and Ron Marsteiner, who had recently lost their beloved Bloodhound “Sasha Marie,” to an aggressive form of nasal cancer. During Sasha’s cancer fight, her parents met significant resistance from both members of the veterinary community and public society about treatment. Their wish to do everything they could to make Sasha as comfortable as possible for as long as possible was finally heard by a hospice and palliative care veterinarian, who helped them give Sasha 6 beautiful months before they had to say goodbye to her.

Amy and Ron became Paws4Potter supporters shortly after we bonded over the topic of pet cancer. Shortly afterwards, Amy approached me about creating informational brochures on different forms of pet cancer that could be handed out at events Paws4Potter was attending or hosting. I decided to create an additional section to the Paws4Potter website, instead, so that people from all over the world could benefit from this information. Thus, the creation of “Sasha’s Information Corner” occurred.

In this little corner of our website, you will find information on all different types of cancer - both canine and feline - in PDF format. Please feel free to download them, print them, and/or share them with others. To make things a little less analytical, I am also sharing stories of pets who fought these forms of cancer. All of these stories and their associated pictures have been used with the permission of the pets’ owners.
